Okanagan Valley, south vineyards stretch from the USA and Canadian border towns, Oroville and Osoyoos, north along Highway 97 and Black Sage Road to Oliver, Naramata, Penticton and Summerland.

As a prominent wine region and premier appellation in British Columbia, the Okanagan Wine Trail is a famous inland route to the Fraser Canyon from the Lower Columbia region o f the Washington and Oregon appellations. Known for its distinct sub-regions and their unique award winning wines and vineyard estates on the Black Sage Bench and Golden Mile Bench. The south region is a narrow chain lake valley with meandering trails and roads along Osoyoos, Vaseux, and Skaha Lake with vineyards sprawling up into the hills from the south shores of Lake Okanagan.

Highway 97 is the main route through wine country, to the north, more Okanagan Valley vineyards, south to Interstate-5, the Pacific Wine Trails, a Pacific Northwest link between Californias Napa and Sonoma valleys, a north-south corridor of great viticultural areas. Travel through Washington and Oregon, where wine trails view the Cascade Range, Columbia Plateau, and other remarkable features. Wine counties are primarily located southeast of the Cascade Mountains in the Columbia Valley AVA (American Viticultural Areas), a vast interior region contributing to the diverse wine production, including Yakima Valley, Walla Walla Valley, and Red Mountain.
